More direct bookings for your campsite

What platform commission really costs you

Booking platforms typically charge 10 to 15 percent per reservation. For a campsite doing 100,000 euros in platform bookings a year, that is 10,000 to 15,000 euros - every year - for guests who might have booked directly if your own website made it easy. Platforms are useful for visibility, but they should be one channel, not the only one.

Why guests book on the platform instead of with you

Guests compare on a platform, then often look up the campsite's own website. If that website has no availability search, no prices, and a 'call us' contact form, they go back to the platform and book there. The fix is straightforward: your own site must make booking at least as easy as the platform does.

• Show real availability and real prices, not 'price on request'
• Let guests complete a booking request in a few minutes, on their phone
• Speak the guest's language - literally: translated pages convert international visitors
• Confirm quickly: an automatic confirmation email beats a reply two days later

Make your website the best place to book

With CampingHosting, your homepage has an availability search, every accommodation has current prices per season, and the whole flow - from search to confirmation email - runs in the guest's own language. There is no commission, so a direct booking is worth 10 to 15 percent more to you than the same booking through a platform.

Turn returning guests into direct bookers

Your best direct-booking audience already knows you: past guests. Put your website address on confirmation emails, the guest info portal, and the QR codes around your campsite. A guest who books direct once tends to keep booking direct.
